First cycle degree: admissions

Entries are received between July 2nd and September 15th, 2012 .

The period of the examination session will be between September 17th and October 13th, 2012, more information will available on our website

ENTRANCE EXAMS TO THE THREE-YEAR ACADEMIC COURSE OF FIRST LEVEL

Suitability tests consist of:

I Italian language exam for foreign students.
II Selective entrance test of musical skills in 'Basic musical training' (Formazione musicale di base) considering, as level of difficulty, the exam to pass the Second period of Pre-academic course; admittance to 'Electronic Music' (Musica elettronica) the level of difficulty to pass is First period [it].
III Assessment exams of musical skills: 'Musical Theory and Analysis' (Teoria musicale e analisi) and 'History of Music' (Storia della Musica).
IV a Exam of musical performance in relation to the Three-year courses of Instrument and Singing, referring to the certification exams of the Third Period Pre-academic Course [it].

Sight-Reading (instrumental) or Sight-Singing (for Singers) - and/or after two hours of study - may be required at the discretion of the audition committee.

For the admission to the Three-year Course in 'Music education' (Didattica della Musica), the difficulty level of the examination of certification (Instrument or Singing) of the Second period will be considered.

Admission to the Three-year Courses in which Pre-academic Third period exam programs do not exist, a freely selected performance of a duration of not less than 30 minutes will be required. Please, verify the Exam Programs update [it].
IV b Theoretical/compositive exam in 'Composition' (Composizione), 'Choir Conducting' (Direzione di coro), 'Electronic Music' (Musica elettronica): reference to Pre-academic course, Third period exams.

Notes
  • Admittance to the Three-Year Academic Course of Como Conservatory will be subject to an evaluation of suitability expressed in hundredths and placed in a ranking list. The evaluation of suitability will not give an automatic right to the admittance to the Conservatory which depends also on the availability of places in each course.

  • A failure in test I, II, IV a (or IV b) will prevent candidates from being included in the ranking list.

  • A failure in one or more tests III will result, in case of admittance to the Three-Year Academic Course, in the assignment of Formative Debts.
